Zlatni Pyasatsi (Golden Sands) is one of the oldest and largest Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria. It is situated at a distance of 17 km north from Varna city, in close proximity to the breezy forests of the natural park “Golden Sands”.

The name of the resort comes from the wonderful golden sand. According to a local legend, pirates buried a golden treasure here, and in order to avenge them nature turned it into fine golden sand. The beach line here is 3.5 km long, and in some places its width reaches 100 meters.

The climate in the resort is exceptionally suitable for marine tourism with hot summers and average temperatures in the month of June of + 22° С. The presence of mineral springs with healing water had brought Golden Sands the fame of a balneological and SPA resort. The combination of a specific climate and mineral waters is successfully used for treatment of arthritis, stress conditions, neurosis, chronic pharyngitis, bronchitis, asthma. The resort has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag international ecology prize several times.

There are multiple hotels in the resort, most of which are situated amidst broad-leaved forests. Their category varies, as well as their accommodation prices. There are numerous first-class restaurants, folk-style taverns, snack-bars and cafeterias scattered all over the resort and along the coastline where everyone can have a meal at reasonable prices. Meals and specialities of the traditional national cuisine as well as of the European and exotic cuisine are served. The rich assortment of Bulgarian red and white wines and brandies is a refreshing addition to the menu.

Golden Sands is a resort which provides its guests with diverse sports options. Diving centers, tennis courts, volleyball fields, platforms for archery, a bowling hall, paintball, etc. are available here. For the admirers of water sports there are good conditions for yachting, water skiing, balloons rides, surfing, jet skiing and water parachuting.

The cultural and information center in the complex offers a rich and versatile concert program, folk music performances and shows in the open.

It organizes exhibitions of Bulgarian artists, courses in the Bulgarian language, folk songs and dances, vanguard fashion shows. You can take part in beauty contests, beer festivals, a parade of retro cars, to mention but a few.

You can enjoy the performances at the International Varna Summer Festival of opera, ballet, theatre and jazz music, folklore and others.

One of the most interesting landmarks on the Black Sea – the rock monastery – Aladzha Monastery is situated at a distance of only 4 km from the resort. There are also multiple landmarks in the nearby city of Varna, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Dolphinarium, the Aquarium, the Maritime Museum, etc.
